Putting it in Black & White
PRELUDE
Let's face it: I am NOT a sartorial genius. The plain truth is I don't know much about fashion. I wouldn't say that I genuinely know what counts as "in season" or "so totally out of trend". In fact, I have never been to see a cat walk. The only cat walk I have seen is the one belonging to my neighbour: The furry feline that walks past my car every single morning. However, day in & day out, I have managed to concoct several pieces of clothing into something reasonably presentable. This is what I call.... My very own Fashion Cocktail.
INTRODUCTION
According to my cocktail recipe, the simple rule is to mix and match. That is to mix high end with high street or simply whatever that goes together in harmony. The second truth is that, although it seems that I tend to splash out on handbags, I am proud to say that I am rather low keyed when it comes to clothing. That is simply because I need money to buy food (and feed my dog too), you know! So, here are 7 daily outfits for the week showing how I mix classic high end items with equally charming high street bargains:
DAY 1 OUTFIT
Chanel Jumbo Beige bag
Vintage Chanel Scarf
Hermes belt and bracelet
H&M Black cardigan
Primark dark long trousers
CLASSIC THEME- Several classic items blended together with neutral tones namely beige, brown, black and gold.
DAY 2 OUTFIT
Zara Trench Coat
H&M Leopard print scarf
Stella McCartney Belt
Vintage Chanel Grey Bag
Primark Aviators
UBER COOL THEME- Trench coats are the easiest and quickest way to look chic with minimal effort. I am still a big fan of leopard print. Just can't get enough of it. Here, I have swapped the original trench coat flimsy belt with a more rigid taupe belt to create a more structured look. The gold tone chains of the bag and the gold tone on the belt buckle are a perfect match.
p/s: I love the Primark aviators which was only a mere £2. Move over Rayban!
DAY 3 OUTFIT
River Island Striped Jacket
Random selection of high street brooches
Chanel baby bag
Jane Norman casual top
PLAYFUL THEME- Today, I am in the mood for playfulness. With my hair all scrunched up in a messy bun plus a casual jacket and a freaking cute baby Chanel bag.
DAY 4 OUTFIT
H&M Black Top
New Look Asymmetrical Black Skirt
Chanel Black M/L Bag
Chanel Belt
Faux Pearl earrings and necklace set
ELEGANCE THEME- The outfit equates simple elegance and the black classic flap cannot get anymore classic. Silver chains, sparkly diamante and lustrous pearls add a touch of luxury
DAY 5 OUTFIT
Zara purple cardigan
Primark Black top
NEXT blue ruffles skirt
Christian Louboutin Purple Shoes
Chanel Multicolour Bag
HAPPY THEME- What can be better than a rainbow of colour to lift one's mood
DAY 6 OUTFIT
H&M white jacket
H&M Black V neck shirt
H&M Taupe Trousers
Vintage Chanel Red Jumbo XL bag
BOLD THEME- If there is any colour to represent boldness, it would be RED. Minimal accessories required. Only a red lipstick was slapped on.
DAY 7 OUTFIT
Primark striped top
Primary black linen shorts
Hermes Belt & Bracelet
Chanel earrings
Chanel Black PST Bag
PARISIAN CHIC- Back to basics at the end of the week. Nothing more comforting than a comfortable pair of shorts and a lazy top. Perfect for a summer weekend.

Hi, I am a big fan of your blog!!But I haven't created my blog yet, maybe soon. I love your Chanel collection! I notice you have so many fantastic vintage pieces. I love vintage accessories a lot more than today's. And I want some myself. I browse ebay and malleries, but I hesitate to buy any, authenticity, condition, etc. Could you please share your experience with your fans? Thanks!!!!!

Hi!
I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your blog! I just have a quick question though. I am really interested in purchasing vintage pieces but I am always hesitant to buy them online. Where do you usually get your vintage pieces? Do you have any suggestions of places/ trusted websites that we can buy them from? I would really appreciate it!!!
Thanks!
Hi Kristine (and LoveChanel....ps:sorry late reply to your original message),
Quite a number of people have ask me the same questions regarding vintage pieces. I did consider writing a special post about it one of these days but haven't quite got round to it. In the mean time, if you drop me your email, I will forward to you a list and relevant tips which I have shared with friends in the past.
Thank you for responding! My email address is kriscatangui@gmail.com
I love your style and your Chanel collection too :D
